Report: Pro Elite invests in Cage Rage

July 24, 2007

The Fight Network is reporting that Pro Elite (parent company of EliteXC) has acquired a significant ownership stake in UK-based MMA fight promotion Cage Rage.

According to the report, Pro Elite has bought out majority shareholder John Faraday’s stake in the promotion. Cage Rage promoter Andy Greer confirmed that Pro Elite is on board and “investing heavily in different areas.”

EliteXC President of Live Events Gary Shaw would not comment, citing the fact that Pro Elite is a publicly traded company being the primary reason. Shaw made no mention of anything to do with Cage Rage during a conference call held earlier this afternoon to promote Friday’s debut of ShoXC.

Thanks to Brent Colflesh for the heads up.
