Doerksen rumored to be fighting Filho

The rumors section of MMAWeekly.com is reporting that former UFC middleweight Joe Doerksen is rumored to be fighting former Pride middleweight Paulo Filho at WEC 29 on August 5 in Las Vegas. The card will be telecast on the Versus Network, starting at 9 p.m. ET.

Also rumored is a welterweight title defense by Carlos Condit against Brock Larson and matches between Jeff Curran vs. Stephen Ledbetter and Eric Schambari vs. Logan Clark.

    Any idea why the WEC?

    IMO the Middleweight division is thinnest in the UFC.

    I would think the UFC would like to build up Filho perhaps in the WEC first and see how he works out. And with guys like Doerksen, Miller and Riggs in there he should get some good tests.

    Heck of a card though on versus for the WEC, can’t wait for it.

    I am wondering why filho is not fighting in the UFC where he belongs.After what I seen him do to Misaki it’s obvious that whoever he goes up against will be in some serious trouble.I look to see him someday being champ in the welter weight division
